Class of 2019 Graduation at MICA’s Brown Auditorium
The Baltimore Design School proudly presents our third graduating class. Our Alumni are off to Design the Future!
BDS Guidance counselor, Mr. Shannon Hayes opened the ceremony, welcoming families and introduced members of the Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners, Dr. Fred Lazarus – Chairman of the Baltimore Design School Board of Trustees, and American fashion designer Bishme Cromartie who sat alongside BDS administrators on stage.

Elisha Davis welcomed the audience, sharing his BDS experience and epitomized the resilience, perseverance, creativity and empathy that make our students so special. He paid tribute to the staff and Baltimore Design School community that he felt supported his efforts to graduate and go to college.
2019 Salutatorian Hyla Wildt addressed the audience, providing testimony to the creativity, strength and bond of her class, the school and the teachers who fostered their creativity while nurturing their spirits. She gave a special thanks to Mr. Hayes for ‘loudly’ reminding them every chance he got of their worth. Click to view video.

Principal Valentine acknowledged the milestone accomplishments counselor Hayes has made, making him one of the highest ranking counselors in the state. She also announced Mr. Hayes’ appointment as Assistant Principal starting in the 19/20 SY.
