“School has always been a pillar of consistency in America. Nine months on, three months off, a set curriculum – schooling was something we could counted on for academic enrichment, athletic opportunities, meals, shelter, and socialization. Then, suddenly, it wasn’t.
In the midst of this not-so-normal spring, uprisings across the country calling out for racial justice have become pervasive and, in many cases, students have taken center stage organizing and leading many of these efforts.” Baltimore Homecoming spoke with Dr. Santelises, Principal Valentine and Ms. Shantell Roberts discuss what has been working, and areas of needed growth.
