BDS students spent a Saturday participating in the Doors Open Baltimore Event. This annual event celebrates Baltimore Architecture and offers a peek inside buildings that most of us rarely have the opportunity to appreciate. This year, Baltimore Design School had an exciting opportunity to tour 5 of the 46 sites that were open. They visited:
– The AIA Baltimore Center for Architecture
– The Grand
– Coradetti Glassblowing Studio
– The Amaranthine Museum
– Gutierrez Studios
On Saturday, October 7, students also served as tour guide, providing visitors on the Doors Open tour path a glimpse inside our historic, award-winning building, spotlighting the history along with the present and projected future. Students were proud to show off their school and what makes it so special.
Thanks to the AIA and Doors Open Baltimore for the opportunity. Did you miss the event? Enjoy this awesome coloring book from FAR/Kids in Design (Future Architects Resources) featuring some of Baltimore’s most iconic buildings. Hope to see you on the tour next year!
