BDS Literacy Coach, Molly Saunders, put on her best camouflage PJs and set out to make the world (or, at least our BDS family) smile last Friday for World Smile Day. Ms. Saunders rallied the staff to participate, organizing activities throughout the day.
Students submitted their best ‘dad jokes’, cracking Principal Brozene up as he reviewed them all, the top 3 were read aloud during afternoon announcements.
Ms. Cafaro-Edwards acknowledged the initiative and Ms. Saunders “for leading the initiative to make WORLD SMILE DAY happen at BDS! This was a great incentive to get students to school today rather than make it a 4-day weekend, and both students and staff seemed to have a lot of fun with it. 🤗”
Post-it notes were distributed during 1st period for students to contribute to a gratitude wall.
Mx. De La Cruz was tickled silly, giving credit to Saunders for “Spearheading the World Smile Day project at our school. She is really putting in her all, despite also taking charge of testing with the Achieve 3000. I see you, and I admire you!” That lovely compliment made Ms. Saunders…smile.
Students created their own emojis, which were…hilarious!
Mrs. Hucker summed it up best by thanking Ms. Saunders for her efforts and, “for organizing a fun World Smile Day! It was a nice way to end the short week after our Wellness Day!”
