Graphic Design Senior Jordan Miller Mack earned his place at a BMA gala honoring artist Mark Bradford. Bradford’s exhibit – Tomorrow Is Another Day will debut this Saturday, September 22 at the Baltimore Museum of Art. The gala was well-attended with area artists and change makers, including acclaimed artist Amy Sherald.
Jordan was a “little nervous, but excited” to meet artists and local change makers associated with his interests. As a graphic design student considering his future, he is eager to connect with those who have made their way in the business. “I really want to go to MICA,” Jordan explained “and got to meet MICA’s president, Samuel Hoi. That was exciting. I liked him a lot.”
Jordan also had the opportunity to talk with the artists and community members . He was inspired by their accomplishments and took pride in their interest in his work. Jordan noted that Architect Steve Ziger “commented on the bag that I designed and said he liked it”.
Jordan worked with the Greenmount West Association for summer Youth Works as a camp counselor and was then hired to be their graphic designer. He created a new logo for the Greenmount West community center and branded the logo on contact cards, canvas totes and other merchandise. He plans to continue working with the Association while he expands his client base.
