BDS has monthly PBIS events which recognize students who are performing at an exemplary level. The purpose of school-wide PBIS is to establish a climate in which appropriate behavior is the norm. Research has shown that the implementation of punishment is ineffective. Teaching behavioral expectations and rewarding students for following them is a more positive approach.
