This past weekend, BDS' Mrs. Nutsugah was recognized with a Simon McNeely award at the state SHAPE Maryland convention in Ocean City. Recipients of this award must meet the following criteria to be considered. We are so proud of Mrs. Nutsugah and her thorough attention to every course she's taught at BDS, but health and the P.E. program is a personal passion for Ms. Nutsugah, making the award even sweeter!
Simon McNeely Awards
The Simon A. McNeely Award nominee must:
-
Demonstrate outstanding teaching and service in Health, Physical Education, Recreation or Dance;

Demonstrate innovations in Health, Physical Education, Recreation, or Dance through teaching and service;
-
Be a current member of SHAPE Maryland or a professional organization pertaining to your field;

Have presented or actively participated in local, county or regional workshops and conferences in the past three years;
-
Be actively involved in school and community affairs and problems related to Health, Physical Education, Recreation, or Dance; and,
-
Have a minimum of 5 years professional experience in a Health, Physical Education, Recreation or Dance field.
