Background/Expertise in Content Area: I have a BS in Pre-veterinary animal science from the University of Vermont and an MS in Environmental Science and Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University. I’ve been teaching science formally and informally for a combined 5 years in Baltimore, MD, and in Vermont.
I joined the BDS Family because… I was fortunate to learn from science and art teachers who taught me that the two are not separate. Art strengthens our ability to understand and share scientific learnings, while science can often be the source of inspiration for artists. At the end of the 2019-2020 school year, I was offered the unique opportunity to transfer to BDS, and I couldn’t have found a better fit!
Fun fact about me: I once was a chimpanzee keeper at the Maryland Zoo before leaving the US for a short research project monitoring wildlife in Namibia, Africa.
