BDS Juniors Destiny B – aka Foxy – and Dominick Alston participated in the Dent Education entrepreneur program this fall.
Students learned how to network and received mentoring; were coached on how to deliver a personal and a business pitch; received financial literacy and experiential learning. They presented in the winter showcase along with other Baltimore City scholars. Foxy and Dominick formed Splinter Designz and began an impressive freelance business.
They landed a big job designing and creating coasters for Innovation Works Baltimore and were able to deliver by pushing to work non-stop, impressing the folks at DENT as well as the client.
Dent Education is an amazing program that ’empowers students to discover and develop their innate creative potential to shape the world around them.’ They offer a 5-week summer program – Bet on Baltimore – through the YouthWorks program. Applications for YouthWorks open Jan 2. Click here to learn more.
