Mayor Scott announced the winners of the Mayor’s 3rd Annual Black History Month Art Contest at City Hall on February 20, 2025.
In celebration of Black History month, students of Baltimore City Schools were encouraged to submit original artwork—paintings, drawings, digital art, or mixed media—recognizing the contributions of Black leaders, artists, and trailblazers. Several BDS students submitted work, and two of our talented designers took 1st, 2nd AND 3rd place in the Digital & Photography category.
Juniors Mykeara Brown and Glori Mahammitt were acknowledged and awarded certificates from the Mayor for their achievement. The submissions of students John, Samaiya, and Kori are also displayed in the gallery. Click here to see a video clip from the award ceremony.
Winning pieces will be displayed at City Hall throughout February.
